In celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, Bandai has released a new Megazord toy. This particular toy reused molds from a previous release (mid 2000's not the 90's version). The Megazord features many die-cast parts that add a lot of weight to the figure. In true Megazord fashion, this toy is made up of 5 smaller transformable figures. The MMPR Megazord is made up of 5 Dinozords. Mastodon, Triceratops, Sabertooth Tiger, Pterodactyl, and Tyrannosaur all look good but feature very little articulation.
Check out my animated review for more details on the Dinozords and Megazord toy.
Is there anything different between this one and the original released one from the 90s?
ReplyDeleteThe biggest difference is the die-cast metal parts. This Megazord's paint and stickers are more screen accurate than the 90's one. The mold is also different. This one is just a little smaller and some of the ways the zords attach are a little different. This one will not with the 90's Dragon Zord, but there is a Legacy Dragon Zord being made.
DeleteI shot the review part of this forever ago, and then I put the animation on hold to make the Retro Con commercial. So, I finally got around to going back and finish up the review.
ReplyDeleteThis falls under TMNT for me.
