ATAX - Kenner Aliens

ATAX was one of the Kenner Aliens figures I really wanted as a kid but never got. He seemed so cool with his alien disguise armor. Plus, the suit always made me think of the classic power loader battle from the film. Little did I know, the ATAX isn't the guy... it's the name of the suit. It stands for Alien Tactical Advanced Explorer. So what the heck is the guy with the funky hair cut called?  I bought this guy at my local comic shop a while ago during a sale on figures with messed up cardbacks. His bubble was starting to separate from the backer.

Since Pixel Dan's video today was about the Queen Hive playset, another Kenner Alien toy I always wanted as a kid I decided to make my Halloween post be about a guy dressed up as an alien.

ATAX came on the classic Aliens packaging. I own every figure pictured on the back of the package... but not all the vehicles.

A closer look at the instructions on the back of the package that shows how to put the ATAX armor on what's-his-face.

Here is the figure and the armor out of the package. He sure comes with a lot of accessories. He comes with KISS rock bank like stilt boots, power loader like arms, a back harness, and an alien queen shaped helmet that contains a missile.

ATAX's bio card from the back of the package as well as the back of the figure.

Flying Fist He-Man & Terror Claw Skeletor - MOTCU

Variants of He-Man and Skeletor were staples of the original Masters of the Universe line. Terror Claw and Flying Fist were some of the craziest re-imaginings of our main hero and villain. These two figures were just released by Matty Collector for the Masters of the Universe Classics line.

Guitardo - Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

Guitardo was a Deluxe Evil Space Alien  released for the later portion of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers toy line. He's based on a monster created for the show after they ran out of footage from the original Japanese tv show. Guitardo is a purple and tan bug who played guitar in the episode to fight the Rangers. His action figure unfortunately did not come with a guitar.

The figure did originally come with two small hand held weapons that could be linked together. I am missing these accessories, because I purchased this figure at a yard sale. You can see this figure in action battling the Imaginext Black Ranger on SEO Toy Review.

Man-At-Arms from the Battle Ram - MOTUC

Today's post features the Man-At-Arms figure that was included with the Masters of the Universe Classics Battle Ram vehicle from MattyCollector. This figure basically provides fan service to people who wanted to create cartoon accurate versions of Duncan (Man-At-Arms). The figure features a un-helmeted head with a ponytail. We often saw Duncan like this in the 200x carton. His boots and the fact that he has armor on both arms helps him match the original Filmation cartoon. These parts combined with other Man-At-Arms figures we have received in the MOTUC line allows us to make just about any version of the character we want.

This version of Man-At-Arms comes with removable chest armor, both left and right removable arm guards, his orange mace, a blaster, and a silver palace guard mace. These three weapons can all be stored on the back of his armor.

The final shot here shows Man-At-Arms riding the Classics version of the Battle Ram. What a great update of the classic two-part vehicle.

Masters of the Universe Classics - Stop Motion Animation

Masters of the Universe Classics is probably my favorite adult collector line currently being produced. Here is a collection of many of the stop motion animated bits I created for action figure reviews for many of the toys.

Cud - Cowboys of Moo Mesa

Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa was a line of toys released in 1991 by Hasbro. The series was also made into a cartoon, which had a different design ascetic. The toys were chuncky and hunched over similar to the Ninja Turtles. The Cowboys in the show were much slimmer and more humanoid in proportions. Here we have Cud, a purple cow-boy wearing a black vest, red hat, and a gold belt. He originally came with a pistol. Cub originally came with a knife and a pistol, but I bought this figure loose at a yard sale.

Goo Fish - Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

The Goo Fish was a Evil Space Alien figure released by Bandai in 1993. This crazy monster was created for later episodes of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers after they ran out of original production footage from the Japanese show.

Goo Fish is a weird blue and gold monster. He originally came with a staff for a weapon. I bought this guy recently at a flea market, so naturally he's without his weapon.

I used the Goo Fish as the villain in my Imaginext Red Ranger and Tyrannosaurs Zord video review.

Duke Nukem - Captain Planet

Duke Nukem was always my favorite eco-villain from Captain Planet. He looked cool, had super powers, and shared his name with a first-person-shooter. This mutant thrives on radiation and toxic sludge.  Duke rocks an awesome red mohawk and some cool rocky skin. I also really like the fact that he only has three fingers.

This figure's "skin" is made of some really nice glow-in-the-dark plastic. He charges up really well and glows great. I bought Duke Nukem at a yard sale as a kid... but I don't know what happened to him. I recently picked up this one at a toy show (NJCC).

Imaginext Goldar & Rita Repulsa - Power Rangers

I love how this review turned out of the Imaginext Goldar & Rita Repulsa set. Can the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers stop Goldar from destroying Angel Grove? They're gonna need Dino Zord Power, but will that be enough?

Mortal Clash Stop Motion Animation - Saint Seiya

This weeks Action Figure Adventures is a clip show of some stop motion animation I did a while back using Mortal Clash figures based on the anime Saint Seiya. I posted the original animated reviews of Asgardian Soldier and Mariner here on the blog a while back.
