Bucky O'Hare - Boss Fight Studios

Bucky O'Hare is the fearless Captain of the space ship the Righteous Indignation. Bucky O' Hare and his crew are getting all new action figures from Boss Fight Studios. These figures are awesome modern updates to the original Hasbro figures. Wave One contains Bucky O'Hare and Jenny. Wave Two will include repaints, Stealth Mission Bucky and Astral Projection Jenny. Wave 3 will include Deadeye Duck and another figure. Boss Fight Studios hinted that the evil Toad Stormtrooper will be coming eventually at their event at the New Jersey Collectors Convention. It was great getting to talk with the people from Boss Fight Studios about their new Bucky O'Hare figures at NJCC.

Dead-Eye Duck - Bucky O'Hare

Today we are taking a look at Dead-Eye Duck. Bucky O'Hare is one of the 90's toy lines I remember seeing in store but never picked up any of the figures. As a kid I was very focused on a few toy lines. I understood that if I wanted a robust selection of characters I needed to focus on one line vs having the main character from a dozen lines. I focused on He-Man & Thundercats. Later I transitioned into GI Joe and Star Wars. When Bucky O'Hare was out I was focused on Ninja Turtles. I always like the Bucky character designs and I pick them up when they are cheap at the flea market or toy shows.

Dead-Eye Duck is a four armed version of Daffy Duck without the speech impediment. He's got a short fuse and is a perfect shot. Dead-Eye is dressed in an orange flight suit with dark orange web gear and hat. He sports silver headphones and an eye-patch. Dead-Eye originally came with one silver gun for each one of his four hands. Since all my Bucky O'Hare toys are second hand, I don't own a single accessory.

Flea Market Finds #29

Today's flea market haul was pretty small, but so was the price. I paid $3 for everything pictured below. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Cheapskate, Commander Dog Star from Bucky O'Hare, ROC Motor-Viper with Flint's head from GI Joe, and a Combat Hero Snake Eyes also from GI Joe.

I really like the vintage Motor-Viper figure, but I didn't buy the Rise of Cobra (ROC) vehicle he was the driver for. Even though he has the wrong head I couldn't leave that cool removable Motor-Viper vest behind. I don't have many Combat Heroes, but I love Snake-Eyes. I already have Dog Star, but I figured I'd check to see if this one was in better shape than mine.

If you haven't entered the 100,000 Views Contest yet, what are you waiting for? I'm giving away toys!

It's a Toy Show

Sorry I missed a post yesterday. I was out with friends hunting toys yesterday. When I got home I meant to take a nap, but I slept all the way through until it was time to hit the flea market this morning. I didn't end up buying any toys this morning, but that's okay because I  bought a ton of stuff on Saturday.

Nick, Mike, Rose, Tony, and I all rode to Richland, New Jersey to It's a Toy Show, hosted by It's a Toy Store. I had never been there before, but I don't plan on ever missing one now that I've been.

The store itself is an entire house with every room filled with display cases of vintage toys. They had everything, and it was all in great shape. Inside and out the place was decorated with Pop Culture items. I like this Panthor they had in the front yard. Not sure if this is a repaint, I'm unaware of any official MOTU products of this size.

So the store hosted a toy show, which was kind of like a giant yard sale and picnic. First of all the vendors didn't have to pay to set up, they just drive up with their tables and products. They set up in the lawn and sold their stuff. The store employees were grilling on the deck and the hot dogs and burgers were free. Optimus Prime was the one costumer I saw.

Like I said, I bought a ton of stuff. Today I'm only focusing on the cheap stuff. At the end of the day a guy that myself and Nick both bought several items from offered me a large box of mostly Power of the Force 2 Star Wars figures for $5. I couldn't leave it. I love PotF2. Here are the items from the box that kind of excited me. Mostly army builders. I have plans to give the very yellowed Wampa a custom paint job. I love to army build. I have to check on a few figures. The wolfman, Hammerhead, and Lando may already be in my collection.

Here are a few more figures from the box that I'm going to throw in the box of action figures I have at school for my middle schoolers to experiment with stop motion animation with.

These last couple of figures from the box are going to be displayed on the self in my office at school. I have a bunch of little nick-knacks and figures already.

The kid (Willy Du Wit) and dog (Commander Dogstar) from Bucky O'Hare cost me a buck a piece. I bought Billy the Blue Ranger for $2. His karate chop action still works. The kid in the maroon shirt is Kevin from the 90's Land of the Lost line and the kid in the white shirt is Bill from Bill and Ted. I paid a dollar a piece for Kevin and Bill. I'm super happy about paying $2 for a Secret Wars Turbo Cycle. It's only missing the little red light that attaches to the back of the cycle.

I also picked up Captain Planet and the Tick, two true blue super heroes for a dollar a piece. I have fond memories of watching both character's cartoon shows.

Flea Market Finds #11

Today was my second time this season I've been out to the Flea Markets. Today I got my first finds.

Knight's End Batman from Kenner's Legends of Batman toy line. He's missing his cape and weapon. I'd love to find his cape some day. I'm a big fan of the Knight Fall (Quest & End) story from the 90's Batman comics. I also picked up a nice Quicksilver from Silver Hawks. These figures can be tricky to find. Their chrome often times shows wear and their flesh tone paint often rubs off the chrome. He's not perfects, but he's not bad either for his age. His action feature even still works. When you squeeze his legs this arms pop up to unfold his wings. I also picked up the Robotech Master figure.

I scored a Captain Bucky O'Hare and the Toad Air Marshal figures. These guys have really cool designs and I always kind of liked the figures. I own one other figure from the line. The original Bucky O'Hare comics were written by Larry Hama of GI Joe fame. My good friend and comic author Doug Moench even wrote an episode of the cartoon show back in the day.

I paid of total of $4.50 for my five figures today. Quicksilver was the most expensive at 2 bucks.
