Kenner Star Wars: Vintage Han Solo

Time to take a look at the vintage Han Solo figure from Kenner's Star Wars toyline. This figure is based on A New Hope. There were two versions of Han, "small head" and "big head", we will be taking a look at both.

Netflix: The Toys that Made Us

I watched the first four episodes of The Toys that Made Us from Netflix. Not a bad series. I feel like it was made for a general audience, but there are a few tid-bits in there for die-hard toy collectors as well. Check out the video review below. It may contain some "spoilers" for the series but it's history so I don't know if there is such a thing.

Star Wars Force Friday the Last Jedi Toy Hunt

It's Force Friday! Did you go out at Midnight looking for new Star Wars toys? Why not? I checked out Toys R Us and Target to see what kind of fun Star Wars toys I could find. I felt like this Force Friday was basically an adult collector event for the Black Series. I didn't see as many young people looking for Lego and standard action figures as I did for the Force Awakens.

Kenner Star Wars Collection Sort

Got a box of Vintage Star Wars action figures from out of my co-workers attic. Ryan, Paul, and Kevin dig through the box to see which figures are here. Kenner Star Wars figures in this collection span all three movie toy-lines, but no Power of the Force figures here.

Star Wars Rebels Kanan Jarrus in Stormtrooper Dosguise

I take a look at Kanan Jarrus in Stormtrooper Disguise based on the Star Wars: Rebels cartoon show. This figure is based on a season two episode of Rebels, but can also double as a troop builder when you put the Stormtrooper helmet on Kanan.

Who's your favorite Kenner Star Wars Figure

A little while back we were shooting a Kenner Star Wars collection sort video right after Pixel Dan and Dinosaur Dracula posted an article on StarWars.com about their favorite figures. So this is a little clip where myself, Paul, and Ryan all talk about our favorites. Let me know who is your favorite.

Star Wars the Force Awakens Peg Warmers

Today Ryan and I check out some of the less interesting Star Wars the Force Awakens action figures. Almost every toy line has a peg warmer, that figure that seems to linger on store shelves forever. Star Wars as a brand is know for making action figures of characters with mere seconds of screen time. These background characters unless very interesting or memorable often hang around store clogging up the pegs.

Sy Snootles and the Rebo Band - Vintage Star Wars

I've got weird taste in Star Wars toys. My favorite figures are Max Rebo and Snaggletooth. I've got one Blue Snaggletooth and close to a dozen Red Sanggletooth figures. If I had to just collect one character it would be my boy Max. The blue elephant alien known the galaxy over for playing the organ is Max Rebo. He's from Return of the Jedi and came with his band mates Sy Snootles and Droopy McCool.  I had these guys loose with no accessories as a kid and loved them. Later I picked up a couple other sets in various levels of completeness.  Today I want to show off my boxed set.

I bought these guys at a toy show a while back and paid a pretty penny for them. I'm not a die-hard carded figure collector, but since I love this set so much and they come in interesting package I had to snatch them up.

The box isn't perfect, but it is over thirty years old. I just love that yellow display on the back of the package. I used to stare at the various card back images as a kid and wish I had them all. Some figures, especially the Power of the Force ones I had never even seen in person.

Luke & Dak at the Battle of Hoth

The snow here has melted quite a bit, but it's still fun to look outside and see snow on the ground. This snow storm the only toy stuff I did in the snow was my recent Power Ranger videos, but today I want to show off some photos I took previously of Luke Skywalker, Dak Ralter, and their Rebel Snow Speeder.

Luke Skywalker and his gunner Dak Ralter head into battle with the Empires ground assault force. Along with their fellow Rebel Pilots they will be up against several Imperial walker which sport strong armor and a massive amount of firepower.

Our brave heroes take a direct hit to the rear of the ship while on an a attack pass under the massive walkers. Luke looses control of his speeder and the craft impacts into the dense snow of Hoth. Once he has the cockpit open, Luke crawls out of the ship.

Luke notices that his friend Dak has made no effort to leave the ship even though it is beginning to fill with smoke. Dak, Dak! he shouts as he tries to undo the gunners safety harness. Luke now positive of his friends fate he steps away from the ship because even though they are grounded they are still in the path of the AT-AT Walker's attack.

Luke takes his lightsaber hilt off his belt and formulates a plan on how he can take down the mighty walker without his speeder.

Star Wars The Force Awakens Action Figure Adventures

Today's video is the Star Wars The Force Awakens Action Figure Adventures episode   So when we shoot toy reviews we often include skits. I planned from the start to string the skits together to make one story, but didn't have the story planned because I didn't know what toys I'd find before the movie came out. So this was sort of my prediction of the film based on the trailer and the toys that I bought.

It's pretty wacky, but was fun to film. I was impressed at how well the individual pieces fit together. You can see my First Order Army grow as the story goes on. I was shocked the so many of the vehicles weren't really in the film

Slave-1 - Kenner Star Wars

Boba Fett's ship, Slave-1 has been a item on my toy wishlist for decades. As a kid, my best friend and  I made up all kinds of crazy extended adventures for the characters from Star Wars. Toys like the Rebel Transport or Slave-1 could be a huge part of our fictional Star Wars universe even though they only had moments of screen time in the Trilogy.

On the rate occasion I'd see on for sale as a kid it would either be insanely expensive or a broken shell. So I finally added one to my collection over the summer, and I couldn't be happier about it. It's not a perfect specimen, but the little play wear adds to the authenticity of this great ship.

The ship features rotating wings, movable guns, a loading ramp, a removable panel and a cool tilting drivers seat. There is a handle on the bottom to help hold it on flight position.

My favorite features as a kid was the included Han Solo in Carbonite block accessory. It's really to short (notice Han has no feet) but that's okay.

Princess Leia on Hoth

Well it hasn't snowed in this part of Pennsylvania yet. It's barley even been cold so far. I decided it's time to break out some of the photos I shot in the snow a couple winters back.  Here we have the vintage Kenner and Power of the Force 2 Princess Leia in Hoth Battle Gear.

Luke Skywalker (in Battle Poncho) - Kenner Star Wars

Luke Skywalker in Battle Poncho is one of the final figures from the original Kenner Star Wars toy line. Based on the middle portion of Return of the Jedi, Luke is dressed in all black with a helmet, and removable cloth poncho.

On Endor, Luke was part of the exciting speeder chase and then eventually turns himself over to the Empire. He uses his lightsaber to deflect laser blasts from the Biker Scouts. Later Darth Vader examines the construction of the new weapon. Unfortunately this figure didn't come with a little plastic lightsaber. Luke in Battle Poncho came with the poncho, a black belt with holster, and a black blaster. (The belt pictured above comes from a Bionic Six figure)

The corresponding Leia in Battle Poncho came with a removable helmet, but Luke's is part of his sculpt. Like not including the lightsaber, it's unfortunate that the helmet is non-removable. Luke wears the same outfit minus the helmet and poncho in the final battle. I wonder if they were saving that version of Luke for a future wave.

Poe's X-Wing Fighter - Star Wars: The Force Awakens

I really like that vintage feel this new X-Wing Fighter gives off. It's construction and many of it's features remind me of the original Kenner toy. Along with Poe Dameron's X-Wing we also take a look at Ello Asty, another X-Wing pilot figure.
