1985 Imperial Godzilla & King Kong

I made a special video about the 1985 Imperial Godzilla & King Kong figures I got for my 7th birthday. I posted this video to youtube, but forgot to blog about in on my birthday! So anyway here's my birthday video a week late. Godzilla was a big part of my childhood and I really loved these figures. I used to get a kick out of the fact that the 12" Imperial Godzilla was in the background of most episodes of the Roseanne sitcom in the 80's. Along with reviewing these figures I also talk about how this Godzilla figure has been important though out my life starting with some home video of me getting these figures and finishing off with some clips from a low budget video called Godzilla Flick my friends and I made at the end of high school.

Fast & Furious Stunt Stars Hobbs & Navistar MXT

Time for some more Fast & Furious action. He's a fun video I shot using the Stunt Stars Hobbs & Navistar MXT. I like the little figures that come with these cars. They remind me of MASK, but they are actually smaller. I love that the Navistar MXT comes with a little action figure of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

Fast & Furious Dom's Auto Shop Playset

Mattel sent over a ton of Fast & Furious toys. I've been busy playing and reviewing them. I had fun making this video. I combined a whole bunch of toys from the line to make it. Check out the end for a cameo from Matt Trakker of MASK fame.

Nightmare Before Christmas ReAction

Today we look at three more ReAction figures by Funko based on the Nightmare Before Christmas. These are good looking figures, but are perhaps too well detailed to fit the ReAction vibe. Check out my video review for my thoughts on Oogie Boogie, Wolfman, and Clown with the Tear Away Face.

Here's a fun adventure featuring the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers the Movie McDonald's Happy Meal toys. All six Rangers and their Zord battle Ivan Ooze's monsters. It was fun playing with the Power Rangers figures I picked up at a toy show not too long ago.

ReAction Gremlins Figures by Funko

Finally got my hands on the Gremlins ReAction figures from Funko. My review takes a look at Gizmo, Billy Peltzer, Mogwai Stripe, and Cinema Gremlin. I love all the 80's goodness we keep getting from ReAction.

Ripley, Power Loader, & Queen Alien - ReAction Aliens 3-Pack

Sorry I didn't get this posted to the blog yesterday... check out the ReAction Aliens 3-Pack containing Ripley, the Power Loader, and the Queen Alien. This is a really fun set and continues the ReAction line based on the classic adventure/Sci Fi Aliens franchise started with the figure based on the first film.

Power Arm Terminator - Kenner

Power Arm Terminator is one of the T2 variants of the title character of an R rated movie turned into a toy line for kids. This figure looks a fair amount like Arnold in the second Terminator film. He's got his back leather vest (was a jacket in the film) and grenade ammo belt. This Terminator sports a lot of battle damage on his face and one arm.

 Power Arm Terminator's action feature is that he has a removable arm that can be changed with a couple of other robotic appendages. His "normal" arm features a rod that can be extended from his fist that kind of looks like he's giving us the finger. I can't figure out what the point of this feature was. It reminds me of Robocop's data spike.

ATAX - Kenner Aliens

ATAX was one of the Kenner Aliens figures I really wanted as a kid but never got. He seemed so cool with his alien disguise armor. Plus, the suit always made me think of the classic power loader battle from the film. Little did I know, the ATAX isn't the guy... it's the name of the suit. It stands for Alien Tactical Advanced Explorer. So what the heck is the guy with the funky hair cut called?  I bought this guy at my local comic shop a while ago during a sale on figures with messed up cardbacks. His bubble was starting to separate from the backer.

Since Pixel Dan's video today was about the Queen Hive playset, another Kenner Alien toy I always wanted as a kid I decided to make my Halloween post be about a guy dressed up as an alien.

ATAX came on the classic Aliens packaging. I own every figure pictured on the back of the package... but not all the vehicles.

Here is the figure and the armor out of the package. He sure comes with a lot of accessories.He comes with KISS rock bank like stilt boots, power loader like arms, a back harness, and an alien queen shaped helmet that contains a missile.

Disney's Tarzan - McDonald's Happy Meal Toy

I bought this Happy Meal toy based on the Disney movie Tarzan several years ago at a yard sale. He's a pretty basic figure, but I thought I might customize him some day for use in a stop motion animation project. Tarzan is pretty basic but features articulation at the shoulders, hip, and knees. The figure balances well and can be easily posed in different stances. Tarzan was available at McDonald's in 1999.

T-1000 Officer and John Connor T2 ReAction Figures - Funko

Today's Action Figure Adventures video focuses on John Connor two versions of the T-1000 ReAction Figures from Funko's line based on T2: Judgment Day. I've been loving the Terminator figures and I was really happy to find these guys. Check out the T-800 arm that comes with John as an accessory in the video review below.

T-800 and Sarah Connor Terminator 2 - ReAction

Forgot to post this yesterday, but I picked up the T-800 and Sarah Connor from the T2 ReAction line from Funko. I'm really happy with the T-800 and it just reminds me how awesome Terminator 2: Judgment Day really is.

T-1000 Officer and Patrolman - Terminator 2 ReAction

I picked up the T-1000 Officer with a hold in his head as well as the regular and frozen T-1000 Patrolman figures from the T2 ReAction line. Check out the video review below for details.

T-800 Terminator - ReAction

The T-800 is a classic Sci-Fi/Action movie bad guy. The Terminator still holds up today and back in the day only got the wacky Kenner figures based on T2. Here Funko tries to capture the magic of the original film with there ReAction line.

This isn't the only version of the Terminator that Funko has released. But I feel this on is more iconic and captures Arnold's likeness a little better, but that might just be due to the sunglasses. He's dressed in a leather jacket, gray shirt, tan pants, and boots.

 The T-800 Terminator comes armed with two different weapons he using to try to kill Sarah Connor in the film.

I wonder if they'll ever make a Time Traveling Terminator figure. Ya know, Arnold in the buff. They'd have to do some sort of interesting shadow paint effect on the figure to hide his junk. Maybe Terminators are like Ken dolls in the front?

Alien Arachnid - Kenner Aliens

Kenner's Aliens line was very popular with myself and my friends when it first came out in the 90's. After the first wave though interest quickly died off, with only one of my friends collecting many of the more outlandish Aliens from the later waves. The Alien Arachnid is one of these more wild designs. I picked up this guy for $5 at the local comic shop when they were having a sale on carded toys in busted up cards to clean up inventory.

 Of all the Alien and Predator figures listed on the back of the package, the Flying Queen is my favorite. I'm not sure why they named that toy Flying Queen and not Bat Alien, but it's a cool figure.

Here is a close up of the instructions for the Arachnid Alien? Alien Arachnid... what is this thing called? Basically his head can suck up water and squirt it out and his legs can lock back and spring forward to trap a victim. Funny... because I had a toy called the Gorilla Alien that kind of did the same thing from the first wave. Reusing gimmicks already?

The Arachnid Alien is a red and black alien figure who looks kind of like a Queen Alien head on a crab's body... okay maybe a spider's body. I only count six legs... is it an Insect Alien or a Bug? Oh wait that's too much like another franchise of sci fi movies.

Fifth Element ReAction figures

The Fifth Element is a movie that I've scene dozens of time over the years. If I flipping channels and it's on... I'm hooked. So when Funko announced Fifth Element figures as part of their Reaction line I knew I needed to get them. The line included Lee-Loo, Korben, the Diva and handful of other characters.

Sarah Connor - Terminator ReAction

Sarah Connor, possibly the most important person in the Terminator universe has been cast in plastic as part of the ReAction line from Funko. I actually picked up this figure last summer at the FYE store event I was a part of. I didn't want to flood Action Figure Adventures with ReAction posts, so I still have some of these to show off.

Sarah is sculpted with her big 80's style hair and has nice paint apps on her striped shirt. I can't say she's the most exciting figure, but she grows up to be a real bad ass in T2. She's a pretty basic figure with no accessories, but I felt like I need someone for the Terminator and Kyle to fight over.

Legacy Black & Pink Rangers - Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: The Movie

A while back I posted reviews of many of the Legacy Power Ranger figures from Toy R Us. I finally got my hands on the Pink and Black Rangers. Time to check them out along with the rest of the team.

Look out Rangers! Ivan Ooze is gonna get ya.
