Dr. Mindbender in Winter Coat - G.I.Joe Collectors Club

This years membership figure for the G.I.Joe Collectors Club was Dr. Mindbender. This times it's not a recreation of a previous action figure, the club made the 'good' Doctor jump off the screen from the animated G.I.Joe movie. Dressed in his winter coat from the classic battle early on in the movie.

Mindbender comes with a file card, figure stand, pistol, brainwashing device, backpack, and laptop computer. For more details on the figure check out my video review below.

Two-Face - Dollar Store Figure

I picked this Two-Face up at a local dollar store a few years back. I mainly got him because I didn't own an animated version of the character. Clearly Two-Face never appeared in the cartoon looking exactly like this, but his sculpt takes it's inspiration from the two different Bruce Timm Batman Cartoons.

The half solid / half checked suit reminds me of the 80's Two-Face even though the colors are wrong. This figure has some really impressive paint apps. They are all crisp and clean. He doesn't come with any accessories, but he does have his lucky coin sculpted into his scared hand.

He's Two-Face still in his some what generic packaging. It's kind of impressive that Mattel printed individual cardbacks for a line like this.

Juggernaut - Marvel Universe

I've always liked the design of Juggernaut's uniform so when he came out for the Marvel Universe line I ended up getting both the helmeted and un-helmeted versions. The face sculpt under the non-removable helmet is wicked. Juggernaut features nice articulation and some great detailing. Check out all the scratches in his arm bands.

The Karate Kid - ReAction Figures

I don't collect all the ReAction figures, but I do collect a lot of them Out of the Karate Kid line I needed Mr. Miyagi and Daniel. I just couldn't figure out which Daniel to get, so I got slave labor and karate champion Daniel figures. These guys, staying true to the line feature articulation and sculpting similar to the toys of the 70's and 80's. I was impressed with some of the paint details on these guys.

Megatron - Transformers Combiner Wars

The next Transformer Combiner Wars figure we have to look at is Megatron. This version is a cool mix of the G1 robot mode with the tank from later series as his alternative mode. The entire figure is made of silver and gray plastic with a few red details. My favorite thing about this Megatron figure is his rubber tank treads that really roll. My least favorite thing is that his arm cannon / tank turret cannon doesn't really have much power when it fires.

Optimus Prime - Combiner Wars

Combiner Wars Optimus Prime is a great mix of modern and G1. He's got a nice amount of bulk without looking too clunky. Prime comes armed with two cannons that can connect to each other to form a larger weapon. As part of the Combiner Wars Optimus can combine with several other robots in the series.

Ninja Turtles Stop Motion Animation by Playmates

Every year on my birthday I've posted a video of some Stop Motion Animation that I like. It's weird but usually I come across something that I had not seen before during the week and save it for the 15th. This time I didn't find anything new, so I'm posting this footage from a toy commercial I really liked.

Skeletor's Hover Robots - MOTUC

Skeletor's Hover Robots are finally solid pieces of plastic! I wanted some of the guys for He-Man to battle so bad back in the 80's. It was a long wait, but it was worth it. Love these guys. The Hover Knights (as some call them) are the Traveling Convention Exclusive this year. They will be for sale at SDCC and any other Cons that Mattel attends.

The three robots come in one package. They each come with a flight stand. The set comes with one page of battle damage stickers that you can use to decorate your figures. The Hover Robots allowed He-Man to smash a lot of bad guys without "hurting people". So the battle damage stickers are very appropriate.

Each robot also includes a set of pinches hands and a set of blade hands. In the Filmation cartoon the robots would often spread their fingers out and start rotating their hands like airplane propellers or saw blades.

Stridor - Vintage MOTU

Stridor the heroic robotic horse from Masters of the Universe was always one of my favorite accessories. Not quite as cool as Battle Cat, but almost. One thing that Stridor has in common with Battle Cat is that there his mold was also used to create a counter part for the Evil Warriors.

Stridor is missing his orange helmet armor piece in this photo but he has his front guns, rear gun and tail. I always wished his legs were possible, but again like Battle Cat his legs are static.

I always had Fisto ride Stridor as a kid, but now I always feel like Rio Blast was a better fit... or maybe Extendar.

___________________________________________

I used to put little notes at the bottom of a lot of my posts. It's something I got away from, but it was usually a personal note about something going on. Not related to the toy featured in the post. So, guess what? Stridor is the 1000th post on Action Figure Adventures. Crazy isn't it? I didn't notice I was so close to the milestone.

Action Figure Adventures Collection Pictures #3 & #4

More images from the blog and other sources complied in to jazzy videos showing off all kinds of crazy toys. I hope you guys enjoy them. Leave me a comment here or on youtube if you think I should keep compiling these types of videos. Also, let me know if you like the fact that they are mixed or would it be better that have theme like He-Man or Super Heroes for each video?

Penguin Commandos - Batman Returns

In Batman Returns, the Penguins army of missile carrying Penguins played an important role. They were also features in a lot of the supporting artwork and products. When action figures of them became available I had to have them.  Packaged as Penguin Commandos a back and gray penguin each came with their own weapon backpack.

The gray penguin came with a yellow backpack that features two gray guns on the side. There is a red control helmet that connects the backpack to the penguin's head.

The black penguin comes with a gray spring-loaded missile launcher. The pack came with two blue missiles that can be fired with the push of a button. The missile pack has a blue control helmet that connects to the penguin's head.

I like that they made some variety with the two figures, but the black penguin with the missile pack is much more screen accurate (and it's still not really accurate). I kind of wished I had two of the black one as a kid.

Avengers: Age of Ultron - 2.5" Action Figures

I'm experimenting with a slightly longer skit (play time) with the toys in the SEO Toy Review videos. Let me know if you like the change and what do you think of the tiny figures? They all have 5 points of articulation and Captain America is the only figure with an accessory. The videos feature a few other figures to stand in for characters.

Thundercracker - Transfromers Combiner Wars

Taking a look at another Combiner Wars figure. This time it's the evil Transformer Thundercracker. This awesome robot can turn into a jet.

Vivix and Fury - Power Ranger Dino Charge Villains

Here is a video review of Vivix and Fury the villains from this season of Power Rangers. Fury is a second tier villain like Goldar from the original season of Power Rangers. The Vivix are the generic troopers like the Putties from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
