Luke Skywalker (Bespin Fatigues) - Vintage Star Wars

As I have posted before, I was born too late to get in on the Star Wars craze as the movies came out, but when I did see them I went nuts. I snatched up every vintage Star Wars figure I could find (and afford) at the time. Luke in Bespin Fatigues was not one of the figures in my childhood  collection. I had farm boy Luke and Jedi Luke and I didn't worry about the others. When I was in middle school and later on in high school I sold off most of my action figures, except for my Star Wars and GI Joe figures. I went from playing with toys to collecting toys... although I still played with them some.

There is an indoor / outdoor flea market near where I grew up called the Q-Mart where much of my early collection came from. There was a seller named Betty who I used to buy lot of GI Joe figures from for my collection or customizing. One day I took in my childhood Real Ghostbusters Ecto-1. This thing was complete and included the box, but had a few play wear scrapes. I traded it for a complete Bespin Luke Skywalker. Luke's gun and lightsaber were some of the only vintage accessories in my second-hand collection.

I kick myself a little bit for getting rid of Ecto-1, but I don't see this guy or Star Wars weapons often, so I guess it was a good trade. Luke Skywalker is dressed in his tan Bespin Fatigues and comes with a blue blaster and yellow lightsaber. One little sculpted detail that I always like was that he has his lightsaber hilt hanging from his belt. I always wanted to find a beat up Luke at a yard sale so I could customize him. I want to cut is hand off and use him as a battle damaged figure. I've yet to run across a second copy of this figure.
